Yes on Prop 16 South Bay Rally (online event)

This event is organized by a coalition of organizations in the South Bay in support of Prop 16.

The ACLU of California has endorsed the statewide Yes on Prop 16 campaign.

Proposition 16 is about opportunities for all. For over 25 years, Proposition 209 has prevented the state from taking active measures to prevent discrimination and ensure equality of opportunity. California voters have a real chance to prioritize racial equity in policymaking, prevent discrimination, and ensure equality of opportunity by voting Yes on Prop. 16.  Women and people of color still face discrimination in hiring, employment, contracting and education.  In states that allow affirmative action, women and people of color compete on equal footing for state contracts. But right now, California is one of just nine states that bans affirmative action. Proposition 16 is our chance to change that. It gives us the tools to fight discrimination, without quotas or caps, so we can take a step towards equal opportunity for all families in California.
