Community Meeting — San Jose city budget process

Dear Friends and ACLU Supporters,

We are excited to invite you to our chapter’s first in-person community meeting in 3 years.  Every year, the San José City Council makes important decisions about how local dollars are spent.  These decisions include the size of police budgets, investments in housing, mental health services, and others.  Join us on Wednesday, June 21^st, 2023 at 6:30pm at the Rose Garden Branch Library to learn from our guest speaker, Bob Brownstein, about how the San José city budget process works and how we can participate in the budget advocacy process. Bob Brownstein is Strategic Advisor at Working Partnerships USA and was the Budget Director for San José Mayor Susan Hammer.  You will also get a chance to meet ACLU chapter leaders and fellow community members.

Time:        6:30 pm - 8:30 pm PDT (Doors open at 6:30pm.  Program begins at 7:00pm.)

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided! This event is wheelchair accessible.

Please park in the streets.  Please do not park in the garage or parking lot of the library because the gates will be locked at 7pm, and you will have no access to your vehicle until the following day.
