ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter’s monthly meeting
The ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 21st, starting at 7PM at San Jose City Hall, room 118. Parking is located just around the corner at the City Hall Parking Garage and the 4th Street Garage. The first part of the meeting will be the monthly meeting of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the ACLU, including local updates and discussion. Following that, our guest speakers Charlie Fredrick and Stephanie Flores Pineda will present the topic of money bail reform. Do you know that the U.S. and the Philippines are the only two countries that allow for-profit bail system? What kind of injustice is resulted? What are the solutions?
Charlie Fredrick is a Senior Organizer at the ACLU of Northern California, focusing on police practices and criminal justice reform. Stephanie Flores Pineda is a Campaign Organizer at Silicon Valley De-Bug. The main campaign that she is focusing on is Bail Reform. The agenda for this meeting will be:
