About Us

The ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter falls under the auspices of the ACLU Northern California Affiliate.

Chapters support the Affiliate in three core ways:

1. Chapters are the ACLU’s eyes and ears in their home communities, alerting us to questionable choices made by school boards, city councils, county boards of supervisors, law enforcement, and other local decision-making bodies.
2. Chapters extend the reach of the ACLU throughout the region by organizing educational events, recruiting new members, and supporting the local efforts of our coalition partners.
3. Chapters keep lawmakers on their toes by representing ACLU priorities and issues in meetings and legislative hearings with their local, state, and federal elected officials.
