During Lobby Day, you’ll be able to connect with other activists from across the state and participate in an exciting day of lobbying our legislators in Sacramento.

This year, we are lobbying on:

• ACA 8 (Wilson) will get a measure on the ballot to remove a clause in the California Constitution that allows for free labor for punishment of a crime. The exception clause enabled the modern re-enslavement of Black people, who’ve been overcriminalized by our nation’s criminal legal system for centuries.
• AB 3170 (Ortega) will protect family integrity and prevent racially discriminatory referrals to the family policing system following invasive drug testing of pregnant people and babies.
• AB 2441 (Kalra) will keep students in school and out of the school-to-prison pipeline and grant educators more discretion over when to report?certain?student behaviors?to?law enforcement.
