ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter March Monthly Meeting


The ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 15th, starting at 7PM at San Jose City Hall, room 118.

The March meeting will be action packed, including:

  1. Monthly chapter meeting
  2. Guest speakers presenting on immigrants’ rights
  3. Know Your Rights Workshop
Guest speakers will be
  • Maricela Gutiérrez, Executive Director, SIREN (Services, Immigrant Rights & Education Network, http://www.siren-bayarea.org).  SIREN’s mission is to empower low-income immigrants and refugees in Silicon Valley through community education and organizing, leadership development, policy advocacy and naturalization services.
  • Raquel Ortega, ACLU of Northern California (the parent organization of the ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter, https://www.aclunc.org)

The agenda for this meeting will be:

  • 6:30PM - 7PM:  Registration
  • 7PM - 7:30PM:  ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter Monthly Meeting
    • Latest ACLU updates on key initiatives, workshops, etc.
    • Discussion / Q&A
  • 7:30PM - 8:15PM: Presentations and Q&A by Maricela of SIREN and Raquel of ALCU NC
  • 8:30PM - 9:15PM: ACLU Know Your Rights Workshop. This workshop is optional, please indicate your interest in attending it when you RSVP
