Briefing and Call to Action to Oppose Facial Recognition in CA (AB 2261)
This event is organized by the ACLU of Northern California.
Please join us for a call to discuss AB 2261 (Chau), a harmful facial recognition bill that will legitimize widespread face surveillance of Californians by companies and government agencies. The bill is expected to be heard before the Assembly Appropriations Committee the week of June 1-5th.
This bill encourages facial recognition by offering weak protections that will disproportionately harm the Black and brown Californians most vulnerable to the health and economic impacts of COVID-19.
During this call, we will give a briefing of the bill and provide sharable graphics and call-in scripts followed by Q&A.
