Santa Clara Valley chapter October meeting
The ACLU-NC Santa Clara Valley Chapter’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 25th, starting at 7PM in the Community Room of the Rose Garden Branch Library. The address is 1580 Naglee Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126. Street parking is available. Please do not park in the parking lot of the library since the gate will be locked at 7PM.
The first part of the meeting will be the monthly meeting of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the ACLU of Northern California, including local updates and discussion.
Following that, our guest speaker Dr. William Armaline will present the topic of racial justice. Dr. William Armaline is the founder of the Human Rights Minor Program, Director of the emergent Human Rights Institute, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences [SISS] at San José State University. His formal training and professional experience spans sociology, education, and human rights. As an interdisciplinary scholar and public intellectual, Dr. Armaline’s interests, applied work, and scholarly publications address social problems as they relate to political economy, environmental sustainability, racism and anti-racist action, critical pedagogy and transformative education, inequality and youth, mass incarceration, and drug policy reform.

- 7:00PM - 7:30PM: ACLU Santa Clara Valley Chapter Monthly Meeting
- Latest ACLU updates on key initiatives, workshops, etc.
- Discussion / Q&A
- 7:30PM - 8:15PM: Presentation by Dr. William Armaline, Q&A, take action
